“The Rain of Flowers along the Silk Road” concert took place in National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiarian

On January 14, 2017 by the support of the Ministries of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and People’s Republic of China, and the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Armenia, in advance of the Chinese New Year, a concert named “The Rain of Flowers along the Silk Road” of Dance an Music ensemble of Gansu province took place in National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiarian.

The concert was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the settlement of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the People’s Republic of China. Minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Armenia and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to Armenia TianErlong made their speeches during the jubilee event. The Gansu dance and music ensemble was founded in 1961 and it represents the culture and traditions of Dunhuang city, as well as the peculiarities of the Silk Road. The program included dance, music and instrumental performances.

Before the concert the director of the Theatre Andranik Arzumanyan, chief producer Arthur Ghukasyan, and the head of Management and PR department Irina Goginyan held a meeting with the head of the Dance and Music ensemble of Dunhuang city of the province of Gansu and the head of the culture department of the province to discuss future cooperation between the theatres. During the meeting some agreements were reached.
