Avetis Barseghyan

Biography

Was born on July 19, 1949 in Yerevan.

1957-1968 – studied at Tchaikovsky secondary school.

1970-1975 – studied at Arts and Drama institute, faculty of design.

1980-1988 – the head of the painting workshop of the National Opera and Ballet Academic theatre after A.Spendiarian.

1988-1995 – the chief painter of the theatre.

1995-1997 – the chief painter of the “Premiere” Union of Russian Federation.

Since 1999 and up to now has been the chief painter of the National Opera and Ballet Academic theatre after A. Spendiarian.

As producing designer he has staged many concerts and performances of governmental and state importance, among which are the stage designs dedicated to the X, XI, XII and XIV anniversaries of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia.

  • 2010 – G. Verdi “Aida”, director – M. Corradi (Italy)
  • 2015 – A. Adan “Giselle”, ballet-master M. Mnatsakanyan

 

Awards:

  • 2010 – “Artavazd” award for the best performance of the year.
  • 2011 – Honoured painter of RA.
